Using PGPNotes for encryption is quite simple.
- Create a new memo using the New Memo. If you are doing
this for the first time, you will be brought to the new memo screen
with an extra action button called PGP Encrypt/Send on the
right of the button bar.
|
|
- Now, type in the recipients, subject, message text etc. as you
normally would.
|
|
- Click on the PGP Encrypt/Send button. You will be
prompted with this options box.
You can attach your own public key as part of the message.
You can choose to encrypt your message, or simply clearsign it.
You can also choose to encrypt the file attachments or leave them
unencrypted.
Note: The options you selected will be saved as the default
settings for the next encryption.
|
|
- After this, you will be asked for the passphrase for your
private key. This is required because all outgoing messages
encrypted by PGPNotes are signed as well as encrypted.
|
|
If all goes well, the message will be encrypted, signed and sent
on its way to its recipients after a short pause with the full
comfort of security.
